Some soldiers recently earned praise after they were spotted helping some students with their learning modules! Their kind deed made a lot of people admire them as they went above and beyond the call of duty to help these children.

With schools being closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, a lot of parents have become their own children’s teachers at home. But in places where most parents don’t even know how to read and write, this becomes a big struggle for the students and parents alike.

Some of these students are lucky enough to find help in kind neighbors or have siblings who can help tutor them, but others also receive help from strangers – such as soldiers!

In Alegria in Surigao del Norte, several soldiers from the Surigao del Norte 2nd Mobile Force Company put aside their weapons to help teach the local kids their lessons.

Knowing that the local kids are unable to attend their classes in regular schools, these soldiers went out of their way to provide assistance. Using ballpens as their ‘weapons’, the soldiers became teachers to these eager learners.

Many were thankful that these soldiers are there to help these kids, especially because their parents probably have no idea how to teach them. Also, teachers in areas like these often struggle due to the location.

Moreover, these kids probably don’t even have gadgets or access to the internet to help them research and study at home by themselves.

While many are happy with these soldiers’ actions, a lot of netizens also pray for their safety because NPAs might use kind acts like this to harm them…

Salamat po sa nyo at naramdaman po ninyo na mahirapan ang mga magulang sa module,” a netizen wrote.

Magagalit ang mga NPA dyan sa Lugar na yan. Mag-ingat kayo dyan. Magmasid baka may makapasok dyan,” another pointed out.
