A teacher treats his student after no one came to his graduation. Then, he also helped the young man get a car that he could use for work! What a wonderful teacher…
Dominique Moore is a teacher at Bessemer City High School in Alabama. When the school decided to proceed with the activities scheduled at the end of the school year, he was appointed as graduation coordinator.
After the successful event, Moore was cleaning up at the venue when he noticed that one of the students was still left behind. Puzzled why the young man was alone and looked rather sad, the teacher asked where his family is. He was told they didn’t arrive for the event.
“I know his moods and I knew he wasn’t himself. I asked him, ‘Where are your people?’ and he was like, ‘Nobody’s here,’” Moore narrated.
Seeing that the student was feeling down, Moore decided to treat the student to a celebratory lunch.
“I expect big things from you and it’s going to be OK,” Moore said to encourage the young man.
The teacher decided to let the student pick anywhere he wanted to eat. The young man picked the Cheesecake Factory, saying that he’s heard about the restaurant but has never been there yet. So, the teacher readily brought him there as graduation treat.
The student loved the shrimp basket with fries and Oreo cheesecake, saying he’s never tried them before. Still wearing his graduation cap, the student happily posed with his teacher as they enjoyed the graduation treat; though Moore blocked out his face for privacy when he posted the photo on Facebook.

While he was smiling, the student could barely contain his emotions as he enjoyed this graduation lunch with his teacher. Moore was also on the verge of tears as they enjoyed the meal, but he did not press the student on what happened with his family.
Yet the teacher also understood that something is amiss.
“Man, I couldn’t imagine graduating high school and my folks not being there,” he explained.
Hours after the graduation, the teen received good news that he got a job at Amazon. But that put him in another dilemma because he couldn’t find transportation to work. So, Moore offered to help, driving him to his job.
After Moore posted his story, donations poured in for the young man – and he was soon able to have enough funds for a second-hand car! Thanks to the kindness of his teacher, this young man was not only able to enjoy his graduation even without his family around, he also got a car he can use for work…
