A lot of people know Ed Caluag for his stints (and mishaps) on TV but did you know that he’s actually a licensed professional teacher? Some of his students also said that he’s an amazing teacher who knows how to make boring subjects fun!

A household name in the field of paranormal investigations, Ed Caluag owes his fame to several local TV shows, particularly “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” (KMJS) where he appeared many times.

But he’s not actually popular because people are amazed with his skills and appreciate his help in investigating alleged paranormal events. On the contrary, a lot of people make fun of him and even made cruel memes, laughing at his appearance and mocking his ability.

As Filipino paranormal investigator as well as spiritistic field expert and researcher, Ed stands by his findings and claims that he really has a talent for talking with spirits and other ‘elements’. But most netizens simply laugh at him.

After getting bashed many times on the show, Ed was finally featured on KMJS – and many were surprised to know that he’s actually a licensed professional teacher!

Growing up in Malolos, Bulacan, Ed got sick of polio at 7 years old but was not able to receive treatment because his family was poor. He was disabled for quite some time but later taught himself how to walk because he wanted to be normal and play with other kids.

He met a playmate at home and assumed he’s a neighbor but later discovered that the child is a ghost because his mom couldn’t see the other kid. He continued seeing ghosts and spirits but because he is different, he was bullied a lot.

It hurt him to hear that people just laugh at him and declare that he will never be able to finish his studies, yet he was able to graduate from Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd) and became a licensed professional teacher.

Today, he’s now a famous personality but despite being mocked for his sometimes-negative portrayal on the show, Ed says he doesn’t harbor anything against KMJS. He even thanks his bashers because they were the ones who made him famous.

Many of his former students would come to his defense when he gets nasty comments online. A lot of them described Ed as a fantastic teacher how had the knack of making boring lessons like history into something that’s really interesting. Classes are never boring with Sir Ed! Wow.
