Energetic SPED Teacher’s Live Demo on Fruit Salad Dance Goes Viral

Teachers know that they have to catch their students’ attention to ensure that they listen to the lessons instead of doing something else in their class. Everyone knows how tricky that could be, especially in a classroom filled with 40+ kids who are already bored and sleepy after going through many lessons for the day.

Yet the teachers still have to find a way to keep the students alert! But as classes these days are confined to the students’ homes due to the COVID-19 crisis, catching the kids’ attention would certainly be more challenging for the teachers!

The teachers know that they have to device ways to still be able to do that, despite the ‘new normal’ that they have to face. With blended learning and online class lessons to prepare, the teachers have to adapt with the times.

Maria Ciony Sanchez from Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City is a college student who aspires to be a Special Education (SPED) teacher. She recently went viral for her energetic moves as she created a live demo of the popular fruit salad nursery rhyme which she converted into her own dance moves.

Indeed, the song might be a little boring for the kids because it involves various names of fruits that they are supposed to make into a fruit salad in the rhyme, but this teacher was able to level up the presentation with her energetic moves.

Though there were no students in front of her as she made the video, she assumes that they are watching – and tries her best to capture their attention in a good way.

Her ingenuity amazed netizens, with many saying that she will make an excellent teacher because she knows how to keep her students on their feet. Let’s just hope she and the thousands of teachers across the country will be able to easily cope with the changes brought by the blended learning program.
