Despite the flood in their hometown, a teacher in Masbate goes from house to house to enroll students for the ‘blended’ learning that the Department of Education (DepEd) plans to do this school year 2020-2021.

The teacher, identified as Gilbert Broñola Ang, shares photos of the enrollment process as he goes from house to house to ensure that all the students at their area of responsibility are able to enroll.

Knowing the challenges that the families in the area face due to the lack of internet connection or even gadgets they can use to enroll their kids, Teacher Gilbert and his colleagues decided to simply visit their homes.

While the school has most likely set dates when parents can go to school to drop their enrollment forms, many parents are too busy or have no idea what they should do to enroll their kids this school year. Thus, the teachers are doing their best to go to their homes.

They are truly going beyond their call of duty, but the teachers know that they have to do this or else many students won’t be able to enroll this school year.

Proud of his nephew, Jherwin Camua also shared the teacher’s post. According to Jherwin, he asked Teacher Gilbert what he was doing in the flooded areas.

Pinupuntahan namin mga bata para makapag enroll. ngdadala lang kami na enrollment form. kasi dapat online enrollment kaso karamihan sa kanila walang pang internet. tapos mdyo mahina dito signal ngayon,” the teacher had explained, wrote Jherwin.

The uncle felt proud of what his nephew is doing to serve their locality. Many netizens were also impressed by his dedication. Certainly, their job would have been easier if they had just stayed at home and waited for the parents to enroll their kids, yet Teacher Gilbert and his colleagues showed exemplary dedication to their job… Salute!
